First, thanks bluebird for saving my cards...now I feel like all that work is worth it! But you know, my kids don't like me bucking tradition....they think I'm weird :).
Second, thanks for writing Tristen! Yes, Photoshop is for those who really want to spend time learning how to manipulate photos and graphics, and have the patience...I tried it for about 3 months and gave up. I just don't have that kind of time...I just want to get my memories put together quickly and make them look good. But some people really get into that and are good at it...I'm just not. So naturally, I recommend My Memories Suite as a great starting place because it breaks you in easy...everything is pretty obvious...and you can go from beginning to advanced if you want to. So 4 kids under 5...wow...you don't have time for much...but I tell you, I sure love being able to put my feet up on a Sunday afternoon, grab the laptop, and start playing with my favorite photos and see them turn into amazing pages/books. And I don't have that guilt hanging over my head that I'm not "caught up" with preserving those precious family moments. Good luck Tristen, and glad to hear you had the great Mexico experience too! Hey Charlene - my name is Tristen (Peters) Van Leeuwen, I know your parents from living in Mexico when I was a young girl, and they were also my dad's mission presidents. Anyway, I just purchased the software my memories suite. I haven't started using it yet, because my sister just bought Adobe Photoshop elements to use for digital scrapbooking. I really don't know what one is better or if they really compare one to the other. It seems like photoshop elements is a start from scratch program and yours has templates already in place. The link from your blog digital scrapbooking 101 seems to be mostly about photoshop elements. I know that you can also download kits from all sorts of websites for free, to use, I just don't know if you can use those with the memories suite program with ease. I'm sorry to leave such a long comment, but I really just don't know anything about digital scrapbooking and I am anxious to get started on my scrapbooking. I am years behind. I am very excited for a digital solution to all my pictures that I have never developed because the idea of putting them into books was just a little too much for me. What a wonderful tradition! I loved your last years card and because it was post Christmas and the other cards were put away so I kept yours on my desk til at least summer!
